Prior to becoming a counselor, I served for 22 years in the United States Army. My duty stations ranged from Redstone Arsenal, AL to Ft. Benning, GA (now known as Ft. Moore). My deployments were in support of operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. My interest in counseling was spurred by serving as a Casualty Assistance Officer to the surviving members of the deceased service member.
My experience includes counseling military veterans and non-veterans with substance abuse and psychiatric disorders in a psychiatric hospital setting. My other experiences include counseling adolescent students in private school and psychiatric hospital settings, college students at the university level, and the indigent population.
My goal is to foster an environment that is welcoming and comfortable for all who seek mental health support. I am committed to helping individuals achieve the best version they seek to be. This includes utilizing various therapeutic approaches. I have received training in EMDR, Play Therapy, CBT and Telecounseling. I thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey for better mental health.
