Since high school I knew that my passion lied in helping people. I obtained my Bachelor degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a double major in Child and Family Studies and Psychology. After graduation, my husband and I moved to Denver, Colorado. There I pursued a Masters degree in Couple and Family Therapy. While in graduate school I worked at a residential treatment center for children and adolescents.
In 2005, my family moved to Houston, to be close to extended family. Since then I have provided counseling services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at a local shelter. I am licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFTS). Additional certifications include being a Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Provider and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Approved consultant and trainer. My specialties include trauma work, depression and anxiety.
As a counselor, I believe that you are the expert and have the answers within you. My goal is to provide individualized services that meet your current emotional needs, address baggage from your past and keep you focused on your goals for your future. With this in mind I will pull from a variety of techniques that will best meet your needs.
For mental health professionals, I am available for those needs. I offer supervision for LPC and LMFT Associates. I also provide consultation for EMDR practitioners working on their certification or looking for general support with their practice. I look forward to working with you!
