CURRENTLY NOT TAKING CLIENTS
I've been a psychotherapist in Texas for twenty years. I attended the University of Houston Clear Lake where I received my Master's degree in counseling. When I became a licensed therapist, I had opportunities to experience a variety of environments that exposed me to issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, chronic pain/pain management, family and foster care issues, marital/relationship issues, eating disorders, and sexual abuse. I opened Pearland Counseling Center with a colleague in 2003 and the business has continued to successfully grow. At the center, I provide individual, marital/relationship, family, and group counseling. I am grateful to be able to provide these services to our community and the surrounding areas.
Prior to becoming a therapist I served ten years in the United States Air Force. This experience exposed me to so many unique cultures, individuals, and situations. I learned the importance of respect, decency, and commitment. This experience strongly influenced the course of my life and gave me a wonderful foundation to cultivate as a therapist.
I approach therapy with a sense of caring, support, and a desire to create empowerment for the individuals that I work with. I find that honesty, directness, and compassion are invaluable in therapy. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques such as Impact Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy, and others.
Creating positive change in life is something we all seem to face or seek out at some point in our lifetime. Taking the steps to make that change happen can be challenging, exciting, and sometimes daunting, but not impossible. Most of us want love, happiness, and a sense of peace but at times that can seem elusive. Most of us know that taking the first step in counseling can be difficult and yet what we gain from that first step can be amazing.
