I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas and a nationally certified counselor. I have a master’s degree in school counseling from Andrews University and an education specialist degree in mental health counseling from Florida Atlantic University.
During my years of experience, I worked with a private practice group where my clients included young children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. The services provided dealt with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma, academic difficulties, vocational issues, family and marital/relationship problems. I have experience working with individuals who have difficulty obtaining and maintaining employment due to mental and physical disabilities.
I counseled adolescent students in the public school setting. I have provided counseling and advocacy for women and men dealing with domestic violence and family crisis. I have experience in the psychiatric hospital setting where I worked with adults impacted by alcohol/substance abuse, dual diagnosis and severe psychiatric disorders.
It is my earnest desire to continue to empower the lives of those who are experiencing mental health issues. I approach therapy with humility and respect for the client(s) I am privileged to work with. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling that focuses on helping client(s) understand their areas of difficulty and achieving their goals through collaborative efforts. I am committed to helping individuals, couples, and families enhance their lives and reach their optimal levels of function. I seek to empower my client(s) through the use of a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, to promote growth and development. I have completed the Level 1 and Level 2 Clinical Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which is the approach I utilize with couples.
I look forward to working with you.
